EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Director/Coordinator

Wellness, Aquatics, Gymnastics, Sports, and/or Summer Day Camp

RATE OF PAY: $33,000 to $37,000 per year and the coordinator position has a salary range of $27,000 to $29,000. We also offer a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) plan, a shared 12% retirement (7% employer and 5% employee), full benefits, free family membership, and generous program and childcare discounts.

REQUIREMENTS:  A minimum of three (3) years of proven experience in areas of focus along with a B.S. degree in Business Management, Sport Management, Recreation, or related field or equivalent. Additional preferred qualifications and certifications include, but are not limited to CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, First Aid Certified, Department of Agriculture pesticide certified, and Swim Instructor Certification in Water Safety and Instruction (American Red Cross) or YMCA Swim Instructor (YMCA) is a plus.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Greensburg YMCA has an excellent opportunity for passionate individuals to join our leadership team. With the growth of our Y’s membership and programming we have a director position and a coordinator position available in the following areas; Wellness, Aquatics, Gymnastics, Sports, and Summer Day Camp. The director position will report to the Senior Program Director and support the areas best fit their skill sets and the Y’s operation. The coordinator position will then report to the director of the department he/she coordinates, to support areas not directly overseen by the director. If the Y believes we have two strong candidates for director positions; two directors will be hired and no coordinators.

Both positions will be responsible for performing departmental duties, i.e. life guarding, coaching, etc. Qualified candidates must be prepared to be available fulltime, including evenings and Saturdays, and require supervisory experience. Administrative Assistant

RATE OF PAY: $9-$11 per hour with Y employee benefits including free membership, discounts on programming, etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Greensburg YMCA is looking for an Administrative Assistant to provide support with direct service within our Welcome Center, day to day tasks related to membership, corporate office, and marketing. Additionally, this position will manage the processing of committee/Board minutes, membership letters and other administrative duties as assigned. This position will be the point of contact for volunteers within the community, as well as, managing the volunteer tracking process.  We are also looking for someone that has an interest in participating in special events, assisting with external marketing events, and is comfortable presenting in large groups.

Department Coordinator for Child Care and Summer Day Camp

CASE MANAGER

RATE OF PAY:  $10.00 – $13.00/Hr based on experience + voluntary benefits

REQUIREMENTS: HS Diploma or GED + 1 year experience in Human Services preferred              

Responsibilities: Daily care, training, and supervision of adults with intellectual & developmental disabilities. Must have knowledge and comply with all standards related to the maintenance and prevention of health and safety issues. One case manager must be present for every six individuals while at the facility, but also a one on one position may be assigned.

Outdoor Pool Attendant

RATE OF PAY:   $8 – $9 per hour

HOURS PER WEEK:  15 – 20 hours per week

REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma and experience working in a service environment

Responsibilities: To ensure that all patrons in our outdoor pool facility enjoy a clean, safe environment that is conducive to creating a positive experience. Outdoor Pool Coordinator

RATE OF PAY:  $10 per hour

Responsibilities: Outdoor pool coordinator ensures that all patrons in our outdoor pool facility enjoy a clean, safe environment that is conducive to creating a positive experience. The coordinator is able to supervise all staff with assistance of the Director of Wellness and Aquatics. In charge of shift phasing, scheduling, and assisting operations of the outdoor pool. Assist in opening and closing procedures of all staff, special events coordination, and other duties as assigned by the Director of Wellness and Aquatics.

Head Teacher

RATE OF PAY: $9.00/hour + voluntary benefits

HOURS PER WEEK: 40hr/week/non-exempt hourly, Monday – Friday

REQUIREMENTS: Associate’s in Early Childhood Education (min) & 2 years’ experience in supervision and instruction ages 6 months to 5 years

Responsibilities: The Head Teacher will be responsible for the health and safety of the class of children to which she/he has been assigned. S/he will be responsible to teach, motivate, facilitate and provide opportunity for the assigned children to develop social, emotional, physical and cognitive skills through individual and whole group classroom activities. – Immediate Need –  Welcome Center Attendant (Greensburg YMCA & Outdoor Pool)

The Welcome Center Attendant greets all members/potential members and guests. Communicates and promotes all YMCA programs, activities and services. Conducts tours, processes paperwork and enters data into the membership database. Handles all incoming and outgoing phone calls, maintains cash drawer and processes membership changes. High school diploma or GED, multitasking and customer service experience required. Hours vary early mornings, nights and weekends. This is a part-time position with a starting rate of $8.00 per hour.

 

Head Counselor/Head Coach

RATE OF PAY:  Starting at $10.00        

HOURS PER WEEK: Up to 40hrs/week

REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary Education or Human Services

Responsibilities: The Head Counselor/Coach will be responsible for planning the daily/weekly activities for each group at their site. As well as, be responsible for assisting the Youth Director in the daily happenings during the camp day. Work as a team with other counselors to actively engage campers in activities. Submit group attendance to the Youth Director daily. Pre-plan the following week’s activities. Responsibilities: Teaches scheduled classes, beginning and ending on time; provides adequate warm-up, exercise, stretching, and cool down. Instructs patrons on effective workout methods; explains proper techniques, demonstrates exercises; identifies different muscle groups, and teaches appropriate methods to strengthen specific muscles. Prepares appropriate equipment, music, and workouts for each class taught while assisting patrons, answers questions, and maintains a positive exercise experience for members and class participants. Wellness Coach and Personal Trainer

Responsibilities: Take professional initiative to promote personal training, clinics and all wellness relate opportunities. To provides a clean, safe, comfortable, and enjoyable environment for our members and guests while they participate in YMCA Wellness Center programs. Design safe and effective 30 minute to 90 minute personal training programs for individual clients, adapting the strength training program to each person’s specific needs and abilities.

DIABETES PREVENTION PROGRAM- LIFESTYLE COACH

DESCRIPTION:

The Greensburg YMCA is seeking a Lifestyle Coach who will serve as a facilitator of the YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program by implementing the standard curriculum in an effective, compelling way and supporting and guiding participants in the year-long program.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Under the direction of the Regional Diabetes Prevention Program Coordinator, the Lifestyle Coaches are responsible for facilitating Diabetes Prevention Program sessions and recording participant data. The year-long program consists of 16 one-hour weekly sessions, followed by eight one-hour monthly sessions. Coaches are responsible for recording weekly participant data that includes attendance, weight, physical activity and food tracker maintenance.

NON EXEMPT HOURLY RATE: $12.50/hour– Based on running one cohort per week for 16 weeks, followed by 3 hours per month for 8 months. Opportunities will be on-going. EEO

CHILD WATCH ATTENDANT

RATE OF PAY:  $8.00 – $10.00/hr

HOURS PER WEEK: < 20 hours per wk/ part time (Mon – Sun.)

Responsibilities: Responsible for supervising and engaging the children of our members while the adults enjoy the YMCA facility. Actively play and converse with the children as well as communicate with the parents before and after their time in the area. Actively play, engage and care for the children and ensure the safety of the children.   Attend any pertinent YMCA trainings. Maintain updated files and related documents. LIFEGUARD I

Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
