YMCA member and/or program participant,
As we approach the winter months we want to remind you of our hours of operation, holiday schedule and inclement weather policy. More importantly, we want to share with you the five goals we are focusing on to improve your YMCA and community experiences and to keep our lines of communication open.
The 2013 Annual Dinner Meeting was held September 25th at the Greensburg Country Club. We honored our volunteers and youth leaders of the year, and Mike Stewart as the distinguished recipient of the 2013 David Shaw Atkinson Achievement award for his hard work and dedication to our YMCA and the community. Step up to the tee to raise a little green for the Greensburg YMCA & The Westmoreland Museum of American Art Children’s Programs!

FROM GEORGE’S DESK
Our Y is community owned, managed by paid staff, but governed by a Board of Directors that help set policies and focus specifically on the needs of our members and community. We are fortunate to have a group of committed volunteers on our board and have established a list of goals. Please review these goals and if you have an interest in these areas or believe we should add to this list please contact me . Together, with your help and input, we can achieve and expand our goals.
Smile, you could be on a Greensburg YMCA camera.
YMCA officials put 32 cameras into operation on Saturday on the North Maple Avenue building in a move that George O’Brien, chief executive officer, calls a “proactive measure.”

The United Way of Westmoreland County’s Partner of Distinction Award was presented to the Greensburg YMCA on April 10 “for advancing the common good and creating opportunities for a better life for all.”
The 4th Annual Friends of the Y Event was held April 19 at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and raised $23,000 for our Building Fund and the re-engineering and replacement of our front porch to continue our mission in this building for another 100 years.
