Y-ROOKIE & Y WINNER SPORT PROGRAMS
YMCA sports programs encourage all participants to be their very best. Participants will develop self-confidence through activities that teach teamwork, sportsmanship, skill development, and fun regardless of ability or experience and everyone plays. Whether learning how to play a new sport or refining old skills, every child is a winner!
Our YMCA character values of Caring, Honest, Respect and Responsibility is incorporated into every sport. Y-Rookies/Y-Winners sports is about having fun and making new friends.
Youth Super Sports is broken into two stages: YMCA Rookies and YMCA Winners
YMCA Rookies
YMCA Rookies objective is to help children between the ages of 3-5 learn the basic rules, skills and tactics of the sports, using a unique game approach.
Beginning in the fall we offer our Y-Rookies:
- Soccer
- Basketball
- Hockey
- T-Ball
- Sportys for Shortys
Every 8 weeks the Y Rookies will learn the basic of a new sport.

YMCA Winners
YMCA Winners is values-based competition, designed for ages 6-12. YMCA Winners helps put winning in perspective for youth. The goal is to focus on trying your best, rather than focusing on defeating others.
Beginning in the fall we offer our Y-Winners:
- Flag Football
- Basketball
- 4 on 4 Basketball
- Basketball
- Soccer
- Jr. Pens Hockey
Every 8 weeks the Y Winners compete in a new sport.
The focus is not on winning, but having FUN and striving to be the best you can be!
