GYMNASTICS LESSONS

Parent-Tot

Tuesdays, 5-6 pm

Ages: Walking – 2 years

Class Length:  60 Minutes

Description: This is a parent-interactive class. Coaches and parents will introduce new concepts that help develop fine and gross motor skills. This class also provides an opportunity to interact with other adults and children while developing basic mobility, coordination, and balance

Primary Skills Include:
● Stretching
● Hanging
● Balancing
● Climbing
● Jumping
● Rolling
● Being Upside Down

 

Preschool

Tuesdays, 5-6 pm

Ages: 3-4

Class Length:  60 Minutes

Description:  This is a beginner-level class; no prior experience is needed to participate. Coaches will follow a developmentally appropriate curriculum focusing on body movement, awareness, and control and introducing basic gymnastic skills on all 4
apparatuses. Coaches will also introduce key concepts such as taking turns, sharing, listening, and following
directions.

Primary Skills Include:
● A basic cardio warm-up
● Stretch routine that includes splits
● Vault – Running and jumping
● Bars – Gripping the bar and swinging
● Beam – Getting onto the beam and basic walks
● Floor – Forward rolls, bunny hops, and levers

Beginner

Tuesdays, 6-7 pm

Ages: 5-10

Class Length:  60 Minutes

Description: This is a beginner-level class; no prior experience is needed to participate; however, coaches will evaluate the group during the first class, and gymnasts will be split into Beginner 1 and Beginner 2 based on their capability. Coaches will follow a developmentally appropriate curriculum focusing on body movement, awareness, and control through a basic cardio warmup and stretch routine as well as introducing basic gymnastic skills on all 4 events (vault, bars, beam, and floor).

Primary Skills Include:
● A basic cardio warm-up
● Stretch routine that includes splits and bridges
● Vault – Hurdling, springboard jumping, forward roll entry, and handstand flatbacks
● Bars – Pullover, casts, and back hip circles
● Beam – Basic walks, straight jumps, kick-ups/levers, dismounts
● Floor – Basic jumps, backward rolls, handstands, and cartwheels

Intermediate

Tuesdays, 6-7 pm

Ages: 6-12

Class Length:  60 Minutes

Description:  This is a class for those gymnasts who have mastered the skills in our beginner class; experience is needed to participate. Coaches will follow a developmentally appropriate curriculum focusing on body movement, awareness, and control through a basic cardio warmup and stretch routine as well as introducing basic gymnastic skills on all 4 events (vault, bars, beam, and floor).

Primary Skills Include:
● A basic cardio warm-up
● Stretch routine that includes splits and bridges
● Vault – Front handspring over green mat
● Bars – Glides, front hip circles, and squat on
● Beam – Handstands, split jumps, leaps, and dismounts
● Floor – round offs, front and back limbers, front and back walkovers
