YMCA OF GREENSBURG

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES TO RAISE ALL

BE THE CHANGE

We believe the YMCA is uniquely suited to meet our community’s needs. And we continue to prove it every day. If you believe that we are in this TOGETHER and want to help, take a look at our current opportunities below and apply today.

It is only through the support of our volunteers and donors that we are able to give back to our communities. When you volunteer at the Y, you take an active role in bringing about meaningful change in your community.

GENERAL VOLUNTEERING

YMCA branch volunteers help create a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Opportunities include greeting members, helping our administrative teams and lending an extra hand where it’s needed.

ANNUAL CAMPAIGN VOLUNTEER

Generosity comes in many forms, and it’s often the best way to support important causes that matter the most in our lives. Each fall, we look for volunteers to lead fundraising teams that help the Association meet our Annual Campaign goals. 100% of the dollars raised toward the YMCA Annual Campaign goes directly to those in need in our own communities.

YOUTH PROGRAM VOLUNTEER

Like kids? So do we. Volunteer in any one of our many youth programs. Help with homework during YMCA After School, teach a creative skill, read books to kids or lead games.

SWIM PROGRAMS VOLUNTEER

YMCA swim programs teach safety, skills and how to enjoy water activities for a lifetime. Volunteers assist with lessons, swim meet timing and other duties.

NURSERY PROGRAMS VOLUNTEER

YMCAs provide child care for parents using the facility. Volunteers are an extra set of hands to rock a baby, or to play games with young children or lead an art project for our older kids. Or volunteer to come and speak about your job or hobby.

MENTORS AND TUTORS

Volunteers help kids with homework, reading and math skills throughout the year through our achievement gap programs, Y Learning and Community Hope. Kids need a friend and a mentor and these one-on-one opportunities serve our community in many ways.

SPORTS COACHES

Use your talents to encourage, guide and train young athletes at the YMCA by coaching youth sports including basketball, soccer, T-ball and baseball.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

At the Y, safety is our #1 priority.  To protect our volunteers and our patrons we are limiting volunteer groups to 10 people and implementing governmentally mandated safety measures like social distancing, frequent hand washing, and gloves for all volunteers.
