Before & After School Enrichment (BASE)
The Greensburg YMCA BASE program is a positive environment in which children can thrive. The program is set up center based with a variety of stations available for the child to choose from. All sites are at a STAR 1 level through the Keystone STARS program, and licensed by the Department of Human Services. Curriculum is centered around the Y’s Mission and Values which are Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibilities. Each month there will be a central theme that all activities will be based on. Participants can expect to keep active through organized play along with crafts, free art, block building, music, group games, and homework/study time. We also provide healthy afternoon snacks to each child.
K-5th grade
The Greensburg YMCA recognizes the increasing need for BASE. Through qualified staff, we strive to provide a positive environment of safety, support and care. The program is designed according to the YMCA philosophy of the development of spirit, mind and body. We promote the YMCA values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility.
Kids Day Out
When school is not in session, Kids Day Out care may be provided at the Greensburg YMCA from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm for children Kindergarten through 5th grade. Our Before & After School Enrichment (BASE) staff will supervise your child’s day off from school in a creative yet structured way. Daily activities may include gross motor time, arts and crafts, group games, swimming, a location excursion and afternoon snack. Dates for the 2024-25 school year will be announced in the future. KDOs will be based on registration numbers and available staff.

Registration Deadlines:
All registration must be turned in and completed in full at least 5 business days prior to anticipated start date. Your child will not be able to start until you are given the go ahead by the Director or Coordinator.
Pricing
Prices are weekly. Full-time is 4-5 days; Part-time is 1-3 days. We accept new enrollment throughout the year based on our capacity and current number of children enrolled. There is a non-refundable registration fee for each child due at the point of enrollment—sibling discount will be applied as applicable. A minimum number of students required to operate.

Full-Time AM & PM: $119 per week
Part-Time AM or PM: $55 per week
Part-Time AM & PM: $99 per week
10% sibling discount | 15% Member Discount
Non-refundable registration fee is $52.

Completion of the enrollment packet does not guarantee your child’s enrollment at any of our school age site locations. It is based on the availability and ratio of the program participants already enrolled. A completed enrollment packet must be submitted to the School-Aged Children’s Office at least 5 days prior to a child’s anticipated start date. The Youth Director’s office is located at 101 South Maple Avenue, Greensburg, PA 15601, packet may be turned in to the YMCA Welcome Center Desk; enrollment packets may be mailed in or dropped off at the YMCA Welcome Center or submitted digitally at b.bianco@gbgymca.org.
