RATE OF PAY: $37,440 – $41,500
HOURS PER WEEK: Full-time, Salaried. Must have ability to work a flexible schedule. BASE program operates 6 a.m.–9 a.m. and 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. late August – early June. Summer Camp operates daylight hours June – August. Director must be available during those times with flexibility during the day. Limited weekend hours from time to time.
REQUIREMENTS: Associates or Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent required. One to two years related experience preferred. MUST have ability to work a flexible schedule. Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include: completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens. RESPONSIBILITIES: The School Age Child Care Director provides oversight to the School Age Child Care department including Before and After School Enrichment (BASE), Summer Day Camp, Kids Day Out (KDO), middle school programming and any other program/events related to children outside of physical programming (sports, aquatics, and gymnastics). Develops and controls the School Age Child Care Department’s budget. Knowledge and implementation of all DHS regulations. Maintain classroom and center space according to DHS regulations. Growth and enrollment of program. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Follow and implement policies and procedures related to Health and Safety (including but not limited to COVID protocols, illness policy, injury and illness).
SCHOOL AGE CHILD CARE COORDINATOR
RATE OF PAY: Starting at $13 an hour (based on experience/education and DHS regulations)
HOURS PER WEEK: 40 (full-time)
REQUIREMENTS: A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 1 year of experience with children. Or an associate degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education or the human services field and 3 years of experience with children.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The School Age Child Care Coordinator at the Greensburg YMCA will maintain a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals, promotes the potential of all youth, and provide quality programming and staff development. The Child Care Coordinator will daily interact with children and families within the program. The Child Care Coordinator will support leadership in the implementation of programs that fosters children’s social, physical, spiritual, and mental growth. This person will oversee multiple school age programs, our summer day camp program and no school day programming. A passion for providing quality programming and a heart for service is a must.
BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL ENRICHMENT (BASE) ASSISTANT GROUP SUPERVISOR
RATE OF PAY: starts at $9.00 – (based on experience/education as per DHS regulations)
HOURS PER WEEK: 25- 30 hrs/wk part time
REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of a HS diploma or GED with documented 2 years’ experience with children
RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in the implementation of daily activities under the guidance of the BASE Coordinator or Group Supervisor. Acts as a role model for the children and other counselors at all times. Responsible for general safety of the children. Discusses/brainstorms with staff on activity ideas. Attends all mandatory training. Complete six additional credit hours in child care training courses per year. Other duties may be assigned. Programs are held on-site at local elementary schools in Greensburg, Yough, and Hempfield school districts as well as Aquinas Academy. There are AM and PM hours available for Greensburg, Yough, and Hempfield. Only PM hours available for Aquinas.
